“The state extended the voter registration deadline following a malfunction of its Online Voter Registration system last night,” said Gannon. “The Governor’s office has asked Florida tax collectors to assist by remaining open and accepting paper voter registration applications until 7:00 p.m. tonight.”

Gannon reminds the public her staff will not provide advice or suggestions on how the public should complete the application. Tax collector staff are not trained on the paper voter registration application process. Gannon recommends potential voters who have questions or issues should seek assistance directly from the Supervisor of Elections office.

The Supervisor of Elections main office at 240 South Military Trail, West Palm Beach, Fla., and all branch offices, will remain open until 7:00 p.m. For more information, including branch locations, please visit https://www.pbcelections.org.

Tax Collector Gannon reminds the public that her staff will not provide tax collector services during the extended hours. Staff will only collect completed applications. They will also print applications for the public as needed. Completed applications will be delivered to the Supervisor of Elections within the required five days.

According to the Department of State website and a news release by Secretary of State Laurel Lee, applications received online today by 7:00 p.m. and through the following channels will be accepted:
