Driver License/ID Renewal
IMPORTANT: If you are not currently REAL ID'd (star in the upper right corner of your license/ID) DO NOT click the link below. You may not become REAL ID'd online. You must visit a service center to complete your transaction.
The federal REAL ID Act of 2005 set new standards for the issuance of state-issued driver licenses and identification cards. REAL ID was developed by the Department of Homeland Security in response to the 9/11 Commission recommendation that the U.S. improve its system for issuing identification documents.
The goal of REAL ID is to improve the integrity and security of state-issued driver licenses and identification cards in order to help fight terrorism and reduce fraud.
As a result, there are new identification requirements for obtaining a REAL ID-compliant driver license or identification card including the submission of appropriate documents in person.
Who Can Renew Online?
