Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicle (DHSMV) Agency’s Technology Move Online Service Disruption

West Palm Beach, FL – Constitutional Tax Collector Serving Palm Beach County.

Our agency has been advised of the following:

What:  Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) Agency’s Technology Move Online Service Disruption

When:  All DHSMV online transactions will be stop at 6 p.m. DHSMV plans to restore all services by 9 a.m. September 10.

While the plan is to have the systems operational by 9 a.m. September 10, it is possible some services will not be restored at that time, which can affect business operations in our offices.  Customers, who know their license, identification card or license plate will expire on or before September 7, should renew before this date.  Please remember, you cannot become Real ID compliant online.  A Real ID has a gold star in the upper right hand corner of the driver license.

In addition to the early September move, another phase of the move will take place beginning 6 p.m. September 21.  Online services will be unavailable during this phase, which the Department estimates will take one to two days to complete.  In-office services will not be affected.

Why:    The move is part of the state’s Data Center Consolidation plan.  In 2008, Florida lawmakers passed legislation that mandates all state agency data centers and computing facilities to consolidate into state primary data centers by 2019.
