Budget-Friendly Installment Payment Plan Collections Begin June 1
West Palm Beach, FL - Anne M. Gannon, Constitutional Tax Collector, mails the first quarter tax bill to property owners enrolled in the 2017 property tax installment payment plan on Wednesday, June 1st. Under the plan, enrollees pay four smaller installments, instead of one lump sum. Enrollees must pay their first installment by June 30th to remain on the plan.
The quarterly payments are a budget friendly option for Palm Beach County property owners. Over 25,000 property owners are enrolled in the 2017 plan. Enrollees receive a discount of slightly under 4 percent. Installment Plan members are encouraged to pay online at beginning June 1. eCheck payments are free. Convenience fees are applied to credit and debit card transactions by the credit card vendor and not retained by the Tax Collector’s office.
Any property owner with estimated taxes over $100 qualifies. Enrollment requires completing a one page application. Enrollment for the 2017 Tax Year had to be completed by April 30, 2016. Applications are available online or at any Tax Collector service location. Re-enrollment is automatic.
The quarterly payments are due in June, September, December and March. If the June payment is missed, the property owner is automatically removed from the plan. There is no financial penalty for missing the June deadline.
The Installment Payment Plan is authorized in Florida Statutes, Chapter 197.222.
