West Palm Beach, Fla. – Constitutional Tax Collector Anne M. Gannon is pleased to announce the office’s Finance & Budget Department has received state honors from the Florida Tax Collector’s Association (FTCA) at its conference last month.  The agency was awarded the 2023 Legacy Award for Financial Operations and Certificate of Merit for Audit.

The Legacy Award for Financial Operations recognizes the innovation and automation the Finance & Budget Department developed for a new process to regularly post outstanding or uncashed checks on the Palm Beach County Tax Collector’s website, www.pbctax.com, so that clients can visit the website 24/7 to see if they potentially have any unclaimed funds with the office.

“This new process lists roughly 2,300-3,000 outstanding checks on the website at any given time and clients can access 24/7”, said Gannon.  “This process negates the need to mail notices to individuals thus reducing our monthly postage costs by more than $1,300!”

The Certificate of Merit for Audit award recognizes the office’s achievement for a 2021-22 audit, clear of any findings – in other words, a perfect audit!  “With more than $4.4 billion collected and distributed each year by our Finance & Budget Department, this achievement is an outstanding accomplishment,” said Gannon.
