Dear Friends:

With six service centers and an adminstration office processing more than 2 million online, mail and in-person transactions each year, we are always looking for individuals to join my agency.  There are several positions currently available and the entry-level client service positions are a good way to build upon one’s service oriented experience.  My agency offers competitive salaries, medical, dental and vision benefits and participation in the Florida Retirement System pension plan.  If you are looking for a work/life balance where no nights or no weekends are required and there are paid holidays, consider joining our team.

I encourage you to apply by visiting www.pbctax.com/culture-and-careers and reviewing the current open positions.  I look forward to possibly welcoming you to our agency and joining the more than 320 employees who strive to provide unparalleled service that inspires trust.

Sincerely,

Anne Signature

OUTDOOR FUN FOR EVERYONE

As autumn rolls in, us South Floridians will start enjoying a much-needed break from the heat. This is a great time to enjoy and experience many of the outdoor activities Palm Beach County has to offer. For those of you who are nature lovers, you might enjoy visiting Gumbo Limbo Nature Center in Boca Raton.

Take a break from the city bustle and enjoy a walk on the boardwalk, visit the outdoor aquariums that represent the different Florida marine habitats, relax in the butterfly garden, or check out the sea turtle rehabilitation facility.

The cooler temps also signal the return of many of our municipalities’ green markets where you can stock up on locally grown produce, plants, and baked goods.  This market is in its 28th season has been ranked the top spot over places such as Boston, Seattle and Hawaii. Looking for something with a little more action? Go out and play some pickleball, a fun sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong. Many of our Palm Beach County parks have multiple pickleball courts and provide high energy fun for the whole family!

Fly like an Eagle!

Photo of mail processing machine

This year’s property tax season marks the inaugural flight of our latest addition to the TCO, The Eagle! Yes, you read that right; however, it isn’t a predatory bird that has joined the TCO, it’s the name of our new mail processing machine. With a ‘wingspan’ of 19 feet in length this state-of-the-art piece of machinery is capable of processing 16,000 pieces of mail per hour or four pieces of mail per second, triple the output of our previous machine!

Not only is The Eagle faster, but it is also smarter too. In the past, rejected mail had to be manually fed into a separate machine for processing, but this new Eagle machine has the ability to re-process mail that was rejected the first time, which saves processing time.  But remember, please do not include staples or tape with your payment and do not write on the envelope or your payment stub and always include your payment stub with your payment.  This will help us process your payment quicker.

While The Eagle is still in ‘flight training’, I am looking forward to it earning its wings and taking off into production for this upcoming property tax season.

Voters can also find any changes online at the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections website, www.votepalmbeach.gov.
