Florida DHSMV Statewide System Outage
WEST PALM BEACH, FL. – Florida DHSMV Statewide System Outage
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you experienced yesterday as a result of the system outage at DHSMV. Unfortunately, we experienced a hardware failure yesterday that resulted in a statewide shutdown of our systems. Although the department does have backup systems in place, the primary system did not automatically fall over to the secondary system correctly. This in turn required a manual process to bring backup systems online after the initial failure. At this time all systems are running and the department is working to identify the root cause of the initial failure as well as the reasons for the backup system’s delay in start-up.
We realize the dramatic impact an outage has on service to our customers and will continue to work towards solutions to reduce the occurrence of system outages. In addition, we are working to improve our communication during these events.
Once again we apologize for the inconvenience to you and your customers due to yesterday’s outage.
